The Creativity Packet people wish to offer 3 examples of creative production.  From time to time this section of the Creativity Packet website will change to introduce various types of creative thought.  At this point we are presenting examples of creative thought in 2 dimensions, in 3 dimensions and in time.   At this time the 2-dimensional works of Paul Henrickson are being presented and in 3-dimensions are being presented the works of  Bradford Hansen-Smith.  As creative efforts in time (music) we are presenting the works of Mro. John Galea.

Comments by Mr Joseph Camilleri

Here are some selected items from the 2003 Exhibition.  These watercolor works by Paul Henrickson may be the only ones currently available from the artist’s two month visit to Oaxaca, Mexico, an area heavily influenced by pre-Columbian cultures, and a visit that had been dramatically emphasized by the concurrent arrival of John Paul II. Although they were a mere fifty feet away from each other it is doubtful the Pope knew the artist was there.

These works were intended to emphasize the tragic experiences of a spiritually powerful culture put almost to an end by an alien culture based primarily on a superior force of arms and motivated by material greed.  Those who might be interested in purchasing any of these should contact the artist at prh@tcp.com.mt

“Ugolino” was added to the Gozo Ministry Collection in 2001.
“Lightspaces” was added to the Gozo Ministry Collection in 2003.
Art Critical Comments...
For many the name of Georgia O'Keeffe has been a household word for a half-century.  Dr. Henrickson reviewed her works and here are her comments about what he wrote...

'Georgia On His Mind'

Review of O'Keeffe's work by Dr. Henrickson

This is the note that Georgia O'Keeffe had sent to Herta, a friend to Georgia, about Dr. Henrickson's article.

The Creative Interests of Bradford Hansen-Smith...

The creative works of Brad Smith first came to the attention of Paul Henrickson in the early of the 1970s, when both he and Brad and hundreds of other artists were living in Santa Fe, New Mexico.  Dr Henrickson's comments on Smith's works can be found in the e-book entitled 'In Broad Daylight'.  Currently he is working with mathematicians internationally in connection with the relationship of mathematics, geometry and art.  Following is a brief introduction to his current work.  More details about Brad's work can be found at www.wholemovement.com.

In addition to writing about and folding circles, Bradford Hansen-Smith travels the United States and Europe giving presentations to school teachers and institutions.  "Within the experience of doing is where we find the art in geometry."

"Geometry is similar to music.  The movement that happens between the points is what informs and satisfies.  And so it is with geometry the movement of pushing and pulling, stretching, compressing, loud and soft, density and openness, folding into and out of special arrangements and proportional relationships gives meaning that reveals value."

The Creative Interests of Iona Miller

"Iona Miller (http://ionatopia.50megs.com/) is a writer, hypnotherapist, and multimedia artist whose specialty is extraordinary human potential. She continues the work of her mentors (Dr.Stanley Krippner and Professor John Curtis Gowan) in trance, art and creativity by promoting deep understanding of the complex territory of human expression.

Creativity is a combination of drive and flow and her own creative behavior and professional performance are, perhaps, the best examples of this thesis embodied in a single individual.

Besides taxonomies she covers creative typology ontological and epistemological notions of creativity--from first causes to root metaphors--cosmic creativity and personal creativity, including how we know what we know."
