THE BUSINESS APPLICATIONS OF THE CREATIVITY PACKET:

The following report has been adapted from an article which appeared in the premier issue of REASON magazine after many more academically oriented publishers rejected the piece.   That statement says everything, I think, about my philosophical orientation, an orientation which, without doubt, has influenced my choices of research areas.

My respect for the genuine individual and the individual’s genuine strivings for an evolvement specific to himself is both an outgrowth from and a reflection of  my early childhood experiences, to say nothing of the fact that similar experiences continued through early, middle, and late adulthood but changed only somewhat in the focus on myself to a focus on the conditions of others---watching the efforts of individuals determined to emerge into full, glorious flower, look around them, and in some astonishment, notice that they are finally standing, confidently, and apart, in their difference.

In the last half century our worlds have changed so radically and determinedly, that it is clearly apparent  a limited parochial world view is no longer defensible as a functioning social ethic.  I therefore dropped my apprehensions about re-introducing this article entitled THE PERCEPTIVE AND SILENCED MINORITIES and have decided, instead, that it is appropriate it be represented, after more than thirty years, and that its reappearance take place in connection with what THE CREATIVITY PACKET is offering.  To read the article click on the title or click here...

The Business Interview

In the course of attempting to introduce the purposes of The Creativity Packet to the business community, an e-mail discussion evolved with a member of that community.  A business competency consultant exchanged a few ideas with me which we offer to you here...

The Analytical Process...an introduction

Old habits and mind sets spell defeat. 

I have been repeatedly reminded, ad infinitum, that the world never changes, everything is the way it was, and therefore, we shall always have with us the liars. cheats, thieves, mountebanks and con-men. Relatives will be selected for positions over the more appropriately talented, and the unknown solution rejected in favor of the “politically correct”---or the “currently accepted myth”. 

Such mind sets, rooted in fear and rigidly inflexible to change, will face defeat in the already emerged world of intelligently applied intellectual material and cultivated creative approaches. Call it, if you will, the emancipation of the subliminal, what ever it is called, what it is, is a recognition, finally, of the value inherent in any organization of human beings of that small percentage of the group capable, but usually not encouraged, to think divergently about solutions to nagging problems. 

Those who have ever experienced the certain, but not proved, existence of an answer to a problem, then upon finding it, exclaim “I KNEW it was there all the time!” know what I am talking about and this is what THE CREATIVITY PACKET is designed to accomplish on a more regular basis.

The following is a suggested improbable situation for a business oriented mind set.  This is an example of what might be asked of a company's associates in order to encourage a creative thinking response: 

Just suppose a company's 100 most important clients transferred to that company's most obvious competitor because the economic savings were so great, what would be your response?

 
This memo is of importance to any organization or business wishing to keep tabs on the creativity level of its members.

THE CREATIVITY PACKET has recently redesigned its assessment program to better accommodate the needs and fulfill the aspirations of those wanting to maximize their effectiveness as an organization.

For a little more than 1 hour of an individual’s time both verbal and non-verbal information relative to the individual’s current and relative level of functioning creativeness within his organization. After the individual has responded to the two tasks involved they will be emailed to THE CREATIVITY PACKET at prh@tcp.com.mt where they will be scored, analyzed and evaluated and a report returned to the organization probably within a month.

The results of these tasks should give the organization a good grasp of who, within their organization, is currently functioning creatively and provide the basis for more informed organizational decisions.

THE CREATIVITY PACKET is prepared to assist organizations on determining thee current status of functioning creativity (this varies from time to time) of their group in two ways, electronically by e-mail and in person on site.

While the second of these offers a more involved and focused product and one more rewarding in detail, the first is more direct and efficient in providing the information most organizations need in order to make timely decisions.

The second requires close cooperation with the organization and demands about 6-times the outlay on the basis of 100 persons involved.
